Research Assistant - Process Design for Next-Generation Mass Finishing Technologies
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology are recruiting for a Research Assistant for a project titled ‘Process Design for Next-Generation Mass Finishing Technologies’ This one year fixed term post focuses on abrasive mass finishing and the successful candidate will be involved in a programme of theoretical analysis, technical experimentation, industrial validation and process optimisation studies.
A Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Computing Science, Applied Maths or closely related discipline is essential, with a PhD highly desirable. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with solid high-level reporting and presentation skills. Project management experience, experience of manufacturing technologies, analytical skills, high level computing skills and experience in abrasive technologies and tribology are desirable. Although not essential, a publications record and a HE Teaching qualification is desirable in addition to experience in the preparation of funding applications and evidence of strong external industrial and academic network.
You will be expected to undertake appropriate duties in connection with the position and other duties commensurate with the grade as deemed necessary by the Dean of Faculty and supervisory team at LJMU.
