Clerk to the Board of Governors

As Clerk to the Board of Governors, you would report to the University Secretary, working closely with the Vice-Chancellors Office in relation to the business of the board and administrative support.
You would be responsible for organising and proactively managing the relationship with the Board of Governors’ committee and sub-committees on behalf of the university. Providing independent expert advice on all governance matters, you would also manage the University’s Secretariat team and manage the administration of the internal audit process.
The role requires you to have a thorough understanding of the university and the higher education sector in which it operates. You must demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative and possess the ability to evaluate precedents and analyse best practice based on a clear understanding of statutory and governance issues. Exceptional written communication skills are a pre-requisite for the role, as is a strong organisational ability, to ensure deadlines and standards are consistently met.
