The primary function of this position is to prepare and section frozen brain specimens from rodents, conduct immunohistochemical procedures and subsequent microscopic evaluation, analyses, and documentation of the results. Additional duties include overseeing a colony of wild-type and transgenic rats, inducing anesthesia and conducting moderately complex aseptic surgeries and arterial/venous cannulations. The purpose of the position is also to execute various daily functions necessary for the maintenance of the lab, such as ordering supplies, contacting suppliers and internal regulatory units, preparing standard solutions, and assisting a postdoctoral researcher and undergraduate students in their research activities, as directed by the Principal Investigator. 

Level B: A Bachelor’s Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 

Level C: Same as above, 3 to 5 years of experience.
