Aston University are seeking to appoint an ambitious individual keen to develop research and teaching activity in areas centred on Biomedical Engineering.

Aston University launched a Biomedical Engineering Batchelor’s/Master’s Degree from its expertise and strong reputation in Health and Engineering disciplines in 2014. After years of significant growth, we are looking for an additional lecturer with special interests in Mechanical design, FEA and prosthetics to expand the range of competences of our team.

The post holder will contribute to develop and enhance research and teaching activities in the field of Biomedical Engineering and influence the course design and delivery.

To assist staff in achieving their research ambitions, Aston University has a very strong research support team well experienced in supporting academic staff secure grants through research councils, EU, KTP and a range of other routes.

You will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and have an emerging or established research profile. Experience in Mechanical or Mechatronic design, Finite Element modelling with experience with the following or similar, Solidworks, Comsol, Abaqus, Ansys, Mimix, Labview, Matlab or C like programming would be valued.

The minimum period for which initial appointments are made is normally five years. However, the normal expectation is that Lecturers will transfer to a continuing appointment during this period on demonstrating acceptable performance in their research, teaching and other duties.
