Assistant Director, Programs, Academic Resource Center
Assist the Director of the Academic Resource Center in administration of the Biology Study Groups Program, including program management, coordination of external relations, and student services.
- Collaborate with the ARC Director, and the SAGE learning specialist team in development, implementation and evaluation of the Biology Study Groups Program.
- Provide individualized instruction in self-regulated learning and academic skills.
- Plan and implement publicity/marketing to promote the Program.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze all facets of Program budget.
- Represent the Biology Study Groups Program throughout University and professional organizations, associations, committees.
- Train and coordinate work of affiliated staff and Student employees.
- Collect data and develop data- driven models for understanding how faculty perceive and experience teaching, how students perceive and experience learning, and what educational experiences can be implemented in science gateway courses to support students’ success, including under-represented minorities.
- Participate in publication preparation in support of research. Participate and further support the Aims for the HHMI funded grant (#52008095; Duke code 383-6751) to increase student success in STEM disciplines.
- Work closely with several university agencies, including but not limited to the Office of Undergraduate Education, Career Services, Academic Advising.
- Participate in ARC Staff Meetings, case consultations, and other ARC related meetings as needed.

Education/Training Bachelor’s degree at minimum, preferably higher level degree in Biology.
Experience Work requires at least two years of experience in personnel, college or university administration, or a related field to acquire skills necessary to provide program management, advising, and general administrative support.
