Reporting to the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, the Director, Database Mgmt & Reporting will design, develop, test and deploy all of PDM’s EHR reporting and forms. The Director will develop best practices for continuous integration and deployment processes, coding standards, architecture design and reviews, as well as, software security processes. The Director will provide experience, leadership, and guidance on complex reporting issues.

The Director serves as the primary individual responsible for project management oversight of module implementation(s) and software version upgrades.

Communicate with PDM decision makers, team members, and end-users to define system and reporting requirements and enhance the understanding of the PDM EHR. Build technically sound reporting with optimization for maintainability, performance scalability, automation and security. Design, create, and debug queries, functions, views, triggers, reports, and forms. Perform comprehensive testing of all reports and forms developed using appropriate testing methodologies and realistic data.

Serve as source of knowledge and expertise on the reports and forms created and the data sources they access. Provide support for general questions, inquiries, requests and problems. Deliver software training online via conference calls, e-mails, and web based meeting to support initiatives. Provide product education to team members. Take responsibility for all actions; follow through on commitments; maintain confidentiality with sensitive info.; acknowledge and learn without blaming others;
Perform project management oversight for database changes, data correction and manipulation, and new module implementation. Collaborate with cross functional team members to clarify requirements and achieve the right balance of scope and schedule. Generate creative approaches to addressing problems & opportunities; identify & weigh options, makes sound decisions after reviewing all relevant information; anticipates & plans for problems; takes calculated risks; recognizes impact of solutions.
Produce both user and technical documentation for created reports and forms. Such documentation will be sufficiently detailed to allow educated users to proficiently use the produced work & qualified writers/developers to modify the work. Assist in the development and deployment of training materials. Provide project education to team members. Act professionally & calmly at all times; consistently demonstrate concern & courtesy towards all; takes personal responsibility for correcting problems;

A Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years to 8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with Oracle database platform, HL7 interfaces, and the creation/modification of Crystal Reports. Ability to drive multiple initiatives at strategic and tactical levels, Must have excellent communication, facilitation, and consensus building skills. Dental or Healthcare industry knowledge and HIPPA highly desirable.
