The Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) provides the expertise, business process, policies and standards required to plan, design, construct, operate, maintain and renew the physical assets of the University, excluding the health system. In addition, the Division, comprised of approximately five Departments, is responsible for the strategic planning, management and operation of non-academic University property, and collaborating with the neighborhood to create a safe, diverse and economically vibrant destination. With close to 12M square feet of space, FRES maintains 186 buildings on a campus of 276 acres, completes over 60,000 maintenance requests per year, and starts approximately 250 projects a year. FRES is comprised of the following Departments: Administration, Office of the University Architect, Design and Construction, Real Estate, Operations and Maintenance.

Provide daily cleaning, sanitizing and restocking of restrooms and public areas. Work includes cleaning of restroom commodes, vanity, toilets, urinals, floors, walls and any other surfaces. Cleaning of public areas include mopping, vacuuming, cleaning glass surfaces and wiping down of tables. Additionally perform routine cleaning functions of disposing of trash and recyclables, changing liners and policing assigned area to ensure overall cleanliness and replenishment of paper products in restrooms. Performing additional projects as assigned and understanding the importance of product safety. Communicating on a regular basis with the occupants in assigned area and providing feedback to supervisor. In addition to carrying out other cleaning duties and tasks as directed by supervisor.
High School Diploma or GED and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to read and follow directions on products and material data safety sheets.
Ability to follow instructions and operate cleaning equipment and tools; assuring the safety of self and occupants of assigned cleaning tasks in an effective and efficient manner. Having the capability to lift and/or move equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds. The ability to be flexible to work all three (3) shifts as may be assigned or due to emergencies. The ability to perform other tasks including but not limited to snow removal; ensuring the safety of the University’s community. The ability to perform other cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
