The University of Surrey is a global university with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, its heritage shows a recurring theme of going its own way, doing things differently – and achieving notable results. The Department of Politics is home to a lively community of energetic minds examining how power operates and how it affects the people it touches.

Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Politics/Political Science in the Department of Politics within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The appointee will join a vigorous and lively department in an internationally recognised University with established strengths in the social sciences and humanities.

Applicants will hold a doctoral degree or be close to completion in Politics or Political Science and should have an emergent high quality publications profile. The successful candidate will contribute to the agenda of the Government & Opposition research group. We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in public policy, British politics, electoral politics/behaviour, party politics, and quantitative research methods.

The successful candidate will contribute to delivering the teaching portfolio of the department and develop new modules in British and/or electoral/party politics for existing programmes.

The post will commence in January 2019.
