Senior Lecturer in Sport & Physical Education
The School of Sport and Wellbeing, is inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Sport and Physical Education degree, based at our Preston campus.
The appointee will play a key role in the delivery and development of modules at undergraduate / postgraduate level, across several aspects of the different programmes in the subject area. A particular focus will be required on practical, theoretical and educational aspects of socio-cultural sport. The role will also be aligned to continuing professional development via engagement with research and innovation. For the right candidate, this is an exciting opportunity to develop an academic career in the area of Sport and Physical Education.
Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the subject area is essential, as is the ability to demonstrate how socio-cultural sport fits into the Physical Education field. A relevant first degree is essential, as is a postgraduate qualification in Physical Education and evidence of being capable of doctoral level study. The appointee will also bring research skills, aligned with the research inspired teaching agenda of the university, to the role. Experience of undertaking learning and teaching using innovative methods is very much desirable.
