The Specialist will perform core analytics work for the department, supporting sourcing, operations, travel, and card management.
The responsibilities include the development of strategic sourcing and procure-to-pay analytics to identify opportunities to further aggregate spend, advance economic inclusion impact, or otherwise assist the University in purchasing effectively. As part of this responsibility, the Specialist will lead the effort to transform the process and deliverables associated with presenting School/Center analytics.
Along with regular, planned business intelligence and analytical needs, the Specialist will support ad hoc requests and new initiatives related to strategic sourcing, financial controls and risk mitigation, etc.
A Bachelor’s Degree and three to five years experience required, with a minimum of two to three years in data analytics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required knowledge includes process and data modeling, data architectural development methodology and working knowledge of databases.
Demonstrated competence in systems analysis and design and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technology.
Highest level of integrity and transparency.
Unique expertise required in turning data into actionable information.
Expert proficiency in Oracle, Business Objects, Qlik, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Advanced communications skills as related to engaging with stakeholders and developing professional deliverables.
High levels of curiosity and a driven desire to thoroughly understand and interpret data.
