Professor/Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science
Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, to commence on January 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
The Department of Computer Science enjoys the reputation of providing high-quality education and conducting top-notch research. It offers programmes at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and has excellent computing resources and supporting facilities for teaching and research. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a strong commitment to research and teaching. A solid track record in research is essential. The position is open to all research areas in Computer Science, with preference given to candidates in the field of artificial intelligence and its subareas pertaining machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing and robotics.
A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
