MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund Program (Sandbox), to work with the executive director to plan and implement the messaging and marketing regarding Sandbox, an Institute-wide program that supports student-initiated ideas. Sandbox provides meaningful seed funding of up to $25,000 for student-initiated ideas, mentoring, and tailored educational experiences. 

Will help create and execute engagement strategies for key stakeholders from students to sponsors; produce marketing collateral which promotes the growth of the program; and maintain and strengthen our relationships with the MIT community including alumni.

Responsibilities include contributing input into outbound marketing and communication strategy in order to deepen and broaden Sandbox relationships; managing/maintaining communications and monthly newsletters, designing and writing original content for various constituents, including student teams, sponsors/funding board members, and mentors/advisors; building relationships with groups such as MIT alumni clubs and various publications; creating and executing plans for engagement with alumni; planning and implementing a series of engagement events; maintaining the Sandbox website and social media; and developing marketing materials.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree in a related field; a minimum of three years of professional work experience in communications, marketing, or events; ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills; experience with a CMS (WordPress, Squarespace); and proficiency with standard data management software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and SurveyMonkey. 

Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
