Research Assistant Professor/Post-doctoral Fellow in Community-Based Interventions and Training
Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in Community-Based Interventions and Training in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis for RAP, or on a one- to two-year temporary basis for PDF.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree by research or equivalent in public health, social sciences, or related disciplines. They should have at least 3 years’ experience in community-based research, public health research and population sciences research. They should also have a strong background in community health promotion, and background/experience in the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in research. Applicants should have the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; the ability to work closely with external parties, including academics, social service groups, politicians, etc.; and excellent written and spoken communication skills. The appointee is expected to coordinate research design, oversee data collection and management, liaise with community parties and institutions to plan, develop and conduct community-based interventions and training programmes for local social service practitioners and professionals, and work closely with academic and research support staff in writing scientific publications and reports. He/She will develop interventions and training programmes to facilitate collection of big data, develop public health training programme for local families and professionals, and coordinate data analysis in family and ICT behaviors arising from the project involving the use of advanced ICT in delivery of social services; supervise research staff members; and perform other duties as assigned. Applicants with relevant post-doctoral work experience and an excellent publication track record may be considered for appointment as RAP, and the appointee is expected to take up a leading role to oversee the research team.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For RAP, the appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
