The holder of this interdisciplinary professorship is expected to represent areas of systematic musicology as well as of the dramaturgy and aesthetics of the use of music in auditory media cultures. Within the study programs of musicology, the successful candidate is expected to teach the fundamentals and research topics of systematic musicology (e.g. music reception, music psychology, acoustics) and to further their development. Within the media studies programs, the focus in research and teaching is on the aesthetics of production and reception of music in the media as well as on sound studies.
