Pro Vice-Chancellor, Digital Learning
QUT is a young, dynamic and energetic university with a global outlook and a ‘real-world’ focus. The University’s real-world learning experience is reflected in the physical and digital nature of the world in which we live and work and in the courses offered. These course attributes and academic staff are consistently recognised through national teaching awards. As Australia’s fastest growing research university, QUT has an international focus both corporately and through its interdisciplinary research environments.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Digital Learning) is a new and exciting role providing senior academic leadership in learning and teaching at QUT. The appointee will lead the development of evidence-based strategies to achieve high quality learning and teaching outcomes. A primary focus of the role is to optimise the pedagogical use of technologies for learning and create systemic, sustainable approaches to build digital capabilities through curriculum design and delivery.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching), this position will be ‘future focused’, building relationships and credibility across QUT and leading the University through the next stage of its development in the online and digital learning space. Critical to the appointee’s success will be their expertise and strategic thought-leadership in the development of creative approaches to online curricular and pedagogic design and implementation.
The appointee will demonstrate success at both the strategic and delivery level and translate these learnings to QUT. Naturally, they will also possess a record of scholarship, enquiry and reflection, evidenced through publications, external presentations and/or other activities relevant to the digital learning field.
