Senior Research Support Associate in Biology
Biology, to support multidisciplinary research activities in the lab of Gene-Wei Li. Primary responsibilities include carrying out research projects in quantitative proteomics and transcriptomics under the direction of Professor Li; maintaining lab safety standards; managing vendor relationships; monitoring inventory; maintaining equipment service records and contracts; and performing other lab duties.
The work may also involve assisting with grant submission; coordinating progress reports; overseeing expenditures; training lab members on procedures and protocols; coordinating reporting and inspections as needed; and serving as a resource to students, postdocs, and other lab personnel.
REQUIRED: familiarity with standard molecular biology and microbiology techniques, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. A bachelor's degree in biology, biophysics, biochemistry, computational biology, or related field and at least three years of molecular biology experience are preferred. Strong communication skills and experience with bacterial genetics or RNA biology are also preferred.
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension depending upon funding.
