President, Consortium on Financing Higher Education
to direct COFHE’s core activities, including its research agenda, policy analysis activities, and other special services/initiatives; and work collaboratively with established governance committees in support of these areas.
Responsibilities include providing strategic direction/oversight to staff; ensuring the internal culture supports the mission and promotes synergy and collaboration across member campuses; ensuring the organization is financially sound and meets its financial obligations/commitments; facilitating and championing the strategic planning process; implementing systems and processes that leverage performance indicators, policies, and procedures that continuously assess/evaluate organizational impact on member institutions and students; maintaining COFHE’s standards for in-person meetings and opportunities for effective information-sharing; partnering with the board of directors to support and guide COFHE’s governance; representing the organization to internal and external constituencies; and engaging in discussions with member presidents and institutions to ensure COFHE is achieving the right balance of innovative research and member advocacy and support.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (Ph.D. preferred); at least seven years’ senior leadership experience in an academic, administrative, or policy position at a top-ranked, independent, and/or selective liberal arts college/university; significant research skills, preferably in social sciences, including experience as a principal investigator and supervisor of highly skilled, professional research staff; and strong leadership skills, sound research acumen, exceptional execution, and success working on issues that advance research on student pre- and post-college success. Some experience working for and with a COFHE member institution in the areas of planning, student affairs, admissions, financial aid, academic administration, institutional research, and/or other relevant area would be ideal.
COFHE has offices at two of its member campuses--MIT and Johns Hopkins University.
