Education, Childhood and Inclusion is a successful, dynamic and strongly applied department, which sits within the Sheffield Institute of Education at Sheffield Hallam University. We have a vibrant and comprehensive portfolio of awards which address all aspects of education delivered at both undergraduate and post graduate level.

We are seeking to appoint professor or reader to support our research development and that of the Sheffield Institute of Education. You will have notable personal research expertise and act as a beacon of excellence in your chosen field. However, you will also need to act as a leader of research within the department and support our continuous development with regards to research and research culture.

Due to the multi-disciplinary approach of the department we would welcome applicants with expertise which links to any of our subject team areas. However, we would be especially interested in attracting candidates who could contribute to the development of
• English for academic purpose / academic literacies
• Childhood
• Higher Education pedagogies and innovation
• Disability studies / Inclusion

You must have a PhD or equivalent academic standing and be able to provide proactive, highly visible research leadership, mentoring and support, including for new and emerging researchers. Experience of developing and implementing research strategies and working at a senior level to provide strong, collaborative leadership alongside is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and deal effectively with challenge is key.
