Job Description

This person will teach lab sections and oversee the daily logistics of Introductory Biology (BI107 and BI108). During the academic year, incumbent will teach 7 labs according to the department need (with a maximum of 5 labs per semester) and one laboratory section in summer (depending on department need). Incumbent will work closely with faculty members who lecture for those courses, coordinate and supervise the Teaching Fellows (TFs) and Learning Assistants (LAs), and run weekly prep sessions.

He/she will collaborate with the Biology Laboratory Supervisor (lab curator) in the labs, and prepare appropriate materials for the labs, revise the laboratory curriculum and manual, and assist undergraduate students with problems related to the laboratories. Finally, this person will keep abreast of trends in science curriculum development through reading, developing instructional materials, and testing potential new laboratory exercises in close consultation with the Director.
