A challenging and rewarding opportunity has arisen with the University's Security Service for a full-time Security Controller.
As a Controller you will be responsible for the security, safety and well-being of all staff, students, official visitors and contractors of the University. Duties will include the administration of first aid when appropriate. In addition you will ensure that all security functions are performed in an efficient, proactive and professional manner.
You must have previous experience of working within a security related role, and this will have included gaining experience and knowledge of security issues and functions working as part of a modern control room operation. You will have experience of using a range of IT systems including Microsoft office.
You will be required to drive between sites and you should therefore hold a valid driving licence. In addition you will hold a First Aid certificate (or equivalent) or be willing to undertake the course as part of your role
The Control Room is staffed on a 24 hour basis which is reflected in a rotating shift pattern. Therefore a flexible approach to rostered working and a sound knowledge of current health and safety issues are essential.
