Arts University Bournemouth is the leading professional arts university dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Offering courses in art, design, architecture, media and performance, we are passionate about our specialist subjects and dedicated both to education and the creative industries which we serve.

Applications are invited for the above post to contribute to our dynamic provision of BA (Hons) Make-up for Media and Performance at Arts University Bournemouth. The course provides a student centred learning environment where bold and innovative approaches to the broad study of make-up design and transformation aim to challenge existing boundaries of contemporary make-up practice.

We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational individual to join our expanding Make-up programme to support and develop student engagement with the creative design processes that inform make-up responses and design for realisation.

A successful candidate will have experience in art and design practices, design thinking, life drawing, sculpture and visual language and be able to teach across the 3 years of study.  It is assumed that the candidate may not be a practicing make-up artist but the candidate would still need a good understanding of three-dimensional make-up practices and performance contexts.

You will be working as part of a dedicated course team who have an open minded approach to Make-up for Media and Performance and how the subject area might continue to evolve in the future. This post offers the opportunity to be developed in teaching and academia.

You will be capable of managing the effective learning of students through devising briefs, delivering inspiring workshops and active involvement in the assessment process. Experience in an HE environment is desirable. The successful candidate will hold a Masters level qualification and ideally have a teaching qualification or Higher Education Academy (HEA) membership or be willing to obtain this within two years.

This position seeks to appoint someone who can enhance the ethos of excellence both on the course and at the Arts University.
