Lecturer in Education
This is a unique opportunity to join a combined School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, where chemists and engineers teach, research and study together. Our undergraduate programmes share modules, and whether you are from a chemistry or an engineering background, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues and teach students from the other discipline. The School has benefitted from an ongoing programme of refurbishment, and you will have access to our well-equipped teaching laboratories, excellent computational facilities, top-of-the-range instrumentation for teaching, and modern lecture theatres. We are an inclusive and supportive community of staff and students from across the world, and we have held a Silver SWAN award since 2010, in recognition of our sustained good practice in diversity.
As the Lecturer of Education you will have the opportunity to enrich and reshape our teaching programmes in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at undergraduate and taught postgraduate level, by implementing and developing our use of VLE. It is envisaged that you will investigate innovative teaching methodology utilising the University's VLE to create an excellent learning environment for our students.
You will ensure our curriculum matches our teaching methodology, updating material and where possible engaging with new technology to create new and innovative teaching techniques utilising our recent investment in VLE software.
You will also play a pivotal role in teaching, supervising and assessing our students at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with a particularly focus at the interface between our Chemistry and Chemical Engineering programmes.
