At TU Dresden in the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry the position of a

Chair (W3) of Organic Chemistry

is to be filled by October 01, 2019.

TU Dresden is seeking an outstanding organic chemist with expertise in research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching program in chemistry. This will include teaching of undergraduate and graduate students (in German) as well as students from other faculties (subsidiary subjects - in German and in English). Research should focus on a currently active area of preparative organic chemistry. The research topics should complement those already present in organic chemistry at TU Dresden. The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in key strategic initiatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry and of TU Dresden. The interest in contributing to complementary programs (Collaborative Research Centers, Research Units) and the ability to cooperate with non-university research institutes is required. The duties include participation in academic selfadministration.

Candidates must have extensive teaching experience and a strong record of research accomplishments. The ability to obtain external research funding and to publish in highly-ranked, peer-reviewed journals as well as conference presentations is expected. The candidate needs skills to initiate collaborations with outstanding colleagues, both internal and external. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony ((Higher Education Act of the Free State of Saxony – SächsHSFG).
