Senior Lecturer in Health Information Management

- $112,662 - $129,675 per annum + up to 17% superannuation
About the position
The Department of Public Health is a leading authority in many areas of public health including health policy, health promotion, health administration, health information management and informatics, art therapy, occupational health and safety, palliative care and rehabilitation counselling. The Department is currently expanding its offerings in the health analytics discipline by launching a new suite of programs in Digital Health.
We are looking for a Senior Lecturer to join the Department of Public Health in either a Teaching & Research OR a Teaching Focussed position in the Discipline of Health Information Management. You will develop curriculum, teach and undertake research and other scholarly work relevant to the development of the discipline or professional field. You will make a significant contribution to the discipline of health information management at the national level. A Teaching Focussed academic may participate in research but has no research output expectation.
Skills and Experience Required
- Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualification and standing in the discipline, and qualifications must also include a degree in health information management (or one of its antecedents).
- Eligibility for Health Information Manager full (graduate level) membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia is required.
- Demonstrated practice expertise and/or scholarly leadership in at least one of the domains of health information management, such as, health information management and professional practice, health classification, digital health and informatics, health data analytics.
In addition to the above, a Teaching & Research Academic will have a strong record of research publications and success in obtaining research funding from grants, contracts and/or consultancies.
