Teaching Faculty (Centre for Communication Skills) 

The Centre for Communication Skills (CCS), established at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) in 2014, offers quality courses and services that would develop the English language and communication abilities of SIT students so that they are competent and effective in fulfilling their academic requirements, and are confident and successful in discharging their professional roles and responsibilities.
To effectively meet the needs of SIT students, CCS invites applications for full time teaching faculty with expertise in the following areas:

  • English for Academic Purposes
  • Writing in the Disciplines
  • Professional Communication

Applicants who have expertise in teaching career skills (including job search, career planning and management, cover letter and resume writing, and interview) are particularly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants are expected to teach in more than one area of expertise and be involved in some applied research work with the industry.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • A PhD or Master’s degree from a reputable university in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or a related field
  • A proven record of and strong commitment to teaching, with at least three years of experience teaching writing and/or communication skills at the tertiary level
  • Considerable expertise in course design, coordination and evaluation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
