The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region.
The School of Culture, History and Language (CHL) is the focus of research and teaching in Asian and Pacific humanities, social sciences and languages, and seeks to build excellence in understanding and capability in engaging with the Asia and Pacific region.
CHL offers a wide range of language programs, one of which is Thai program. The study of Thai is essential for anyone wishing to understand Thailand’s cultures, society and history. Thailand’s strategic position in Southeast Asia and strengthening trade links with Australia, all contribute to the need for Thai- related knowledge and skills.
CHL is seeking an experienced language teacher with advanced proficiency in Thai to deliver tutorials and/or lectures, and develop (online) teaching materials using the ANU Learning Management System. The appointee will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional practice with knowledge and understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles (experience teaching at the tertiary level would be an advantage). Computer, administrative and record keeping skills (for example email, Wattle, Moodle, internet) will be highly regarded. This position is based at the ANU campus in Canberra.
