Description of Work Unit
The College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University speaks to our institution’s land-grant mission through its economic impact, cutting-edge research, and innovative education. The College offers undergraduate majors with different concentration options as well as graduate degree programs within the College and its five academic departments. The Colorado Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) conducts research that addresses the economic viability, environmental sustainability, and social acceptability of activities impacting agriculture, natural resources, and consumers in Colorado.
Temporary, Special, or Regular Research Associate positions (Level I, II, III, IV or Senior) may become available throughout the year in Animal Sciences (AS), Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management (BSPM), Horticulture and Landscape Architecture (HLA), Soil and Crop Sciences (SCS), Agriculture and Resource Economics (DARE), or at one of our Colorado Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES) Research Centers.
Required Job Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized experience and/or training. Additional required qualifications, rank and salary determined by specific position to be filled.
- Level I is an entry-level position for individuals with a bachelor’s degree or commensurate specialized experience and/or training and less than 3 years of professional experience.
- Level II includes individuals with an RAI + 3 years experience or bachelor’s degree + 3 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree.
- Level III includes individuals with RAII + experience or a bachelor’s degree + 5 years related experience, or a master’s degree + 2 years related experience or Ph.D.
- Level IV includes individuals with a RAIII + experience or bachelor’s degree + 10 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or PhD + 2 yrs. experience.
- Senior Research Associate includes individuals with RAIV + experience or bachelor’s degree + extensive related experience or master’s degree + significant professional experience or Ph.D. + 5 years experience.
