Catering and Bars Supervisor
We are looking to recruit two term-time Catering and Bars Supervisors into newly created positions to cater for our growing student population. Both positions will be based in Churchill Hall; the role requires the postholder to work at all our hall bars as required.
The main purpose of the job is to supervise the day to day preparation, delivery and provision of catering and bars services to meet the operational demand of Residential and Hospitality Services; ensuring that student, staff and delegates’ conference, bar and event needs are met at all times.
You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of our student bar and catering service. This will involve supervising our operational service staff; ensuring the cleanliness of all operational areas; maintaining food and liquor stocks and ensuring all working practices and procedures are carried out in accordance within the applicable regulations.
The postholder will need to attend and supervise special functions such as Degree Ceremonies, Wedding Receptions and other bookings, in addition to regular duties as required daily; and provide Duty Management and Event Management responsibilities weekly and on weekends on a rota basis;
In order to carry out this role, we will require you to have gained significant experience of working in catering and bars within a large organisation, along with experience of supervising staff. You must hold a Basic Food Hygiene and Safety certificate and a Personal Licence. It would be beneficial to have a knowledge of cash handling procedures and a cellar skills qualification.
