Academic Support Worker
UCB is seeking to appoint proactive and committed individuals to undertake a wide range of learning support functions for learners with differing needs, as part of our dedicated Academic Support team within the Directorate of Learning Services.
The successful candidate will employ specific support strategies with students who have a diverse range of needs and record the impact of support. Note taking, reading and scribing on behalf of students with additional learning needs will also constitute part of the role.
You will take a student-focused approach, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be enthusiastic about enhancing student experiences and outcomes.
In addition to working in diverse learning environments with students, the successful candidate will take on administrative responsibilities pertinent to the position and help develop the provision of the Academic Support team.
Opportunities for self and professional development will be provided, and the post-holder will be encouraged to work towards a recognised qualification in learning support/mentoring.
This is a fractional role, positioned around the main further and higher education teaching weeks (40 weeks per year). Flexibility in terms of working hours is essential as early starts and late finishes are typical.
