Director of Research Strategy, Funding and Impact
Aston University is looking for a new Director of Research Strategy, Funding and Impact. The appointee will lead a capable team overseeing REF preparations, strategy implementation, funding grants and impact. For the coming REF, the University plans to build on its performance in 2014, and intends to submit to seven units of assessment, covering over 400 FTE staff. Its research funding comes from a broad range of sources, including research councils, EU and business. Impact is central to the University’s research strategy, and a core part of its positioning as a leading university for business and the professions.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced in managing research strategy, funding and/or impact, either at University or faculty level. They will be capable managers, with a track record of building collaborative relationships with colleagues across the University. They will be strategic thinkers, with a broad understanding of research policy and how it is developing at national level.
