Lecturer in Optometry
We are seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Optometry to develop and enhance the research and teaching activities of Aston Optometry School. The successful applicant will be expected to manage research projects and to supervise postgraduate students at Masters and doctoral levels including those on distance learning programmes. You will be responsible for the design and content of specific areas of Optometry teaching and learning within undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The successful applicants will have a PhD in Optometry or a related area. Experience of initiating and conducting research to doctoral level is essential. In addition, we expect further development of our research programme, grant applications and future publications in academic journals.

The minimum period for which initial appointments are made is normally five years. However, the normal expectation is that Lecturers will transfer to a continuing appointment during this period on demonstrating acceptable performance in their research, teaching and other duties.
