SOAS is looking for a Director of Library Services and Librarian who will provide effective leadership and management of the School’s Library, Archives, and Special Collections (Library Services) from strategic development to service delivery. The successful candidate will develop, implement and evaluate an integrated strategy for the full range of Library Services in line with the vision and objectives of the School, particularly in support of teaching, learning and research. They will position the Library as a leader in the HE sector both in the UK and internationally, and maximise the benefits to be derived from its National Research Library status.
In the context of major changes in UK Higher Education, SOAS is conducting a thorough transformation of its professional services to ensure that it is fit for the future. This role plays a key part in delivering this change.
Strong candidates will have experience of successful leadership in a large academic and/or research library. They will have strong strategic management skills, and a track record of using innovative information technologies and providing leading outstanding customer service.
