About the role
The School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences focuses on applied research and professional education, enriched by the professional knowledge of its staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and strong partnerships with industry, community, and professional bodies.
As the Research Associate working closely with the Professor/Research Chair in Neuroscience you will contribute to grant-funded research in order to achieve defined objectives and test stated hypotheses. The project involves culture of human cells and converting these cells into therapeutic cells. This will include the characterization of cells by different methods such as FACS, mRNA analysis and immunocytochemistry, preparation for functional assays, and testing these cells for their therapeutic effects.
Skills and Experience
To be eligible, you will have a postgraduate qualification in medical biotechnology or related disciplines along with experience in molecular biology and cell biology. You will also have high competence in recording, analysing, presenting and disseminating research to stakeholders including the preparation of papers for high quality publications or posters for conference presentations.
