Salary: Grade 6, £28,098 - £31,604 per annum
You will assist with the running of the Scottish Centre for Macromolecular Imaging (SCMI), based in the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR). SCMI aims to deliver a world-class Cryogenic Electron Microscopy (CryoEM) service to the structural biology communities of Scotland and Northern England. Specifically the aim of the work is to deliver high-quality single particle and tomography data to investigators and to oversee the management and maintenance of the Centre’s transmission electron microscopes.
SCMI will be equipped with newly designed JEOL automated cryo-microscopes. The primary role of this post will be to support SCMI users to achieve high-quality cryoEM data by preparing specimens for imaging and operating the SCMI electron microscopes for data collection.
In addition, you will be a motivated scientist with a proven interest and aptitude for biological imaging and structural biology.
