We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join the Infrastructure Services and Operations team to support building, developing and operating the University’s hybrid cloud infrastructure and work with complex cloud management platforms to ensure cloud infrastructure projects are successfully delivered.
This role will be working with a range of staff from various areas throughout IT and the greater University community therefore will have strong communication skills with the ability to identify needs and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
A breadth of knowledge across both application development and IT operations is required to fulfil the duties of this role as the incumbent will be involved in the building and running of hybrid cloud platforms for testing and production, as well as helping inform and guide how best to build, deliver and operate cloud services for staff, researchers and internal applications at the University.
The role is expected to apply relevant skills and expertise across various cloud projects and Business As Usual (BAU), to improve hybrid cloud management and operational capabilities in 2018 and 2019.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in a computer science or software engineering related discipline, or equivalent experience and /or industry qualification, with substantial experience working in Cloud DevOps Engineer/Systems role
- Proven experience in design and implement of AWS and Azure with identity and access integration, into On-premises cloud infrastructure
- Extensive knowledge of operating system security, as well as well-developed configuration management skills. Eg. Puppet, Anisble, Git, CVS
- Substantial experience in hypervisors - VMware, Hyper-V and KVM, with a broad knowledge of Nutanix
