Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position at the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology (IPPP), based within the Physics Department. The successful applicant will play a key role in the development, maintenance and support of HERWIG and its use in high energy experiments at the LHC. Applications from candidates with a strong record of engagement with experimental groups are encouraged.

The successful candidates will have an excellent research record in Monte Carlo event generators and will have an important role to play in the maintaining of the Institute as a world-class centre for particle physics event simulations and a key facility for the UK particle physics community. It is essential that the successful candidates will have a PhD in particle physics or closely related field, and will have demonstrated strength in independent research in particle physics appropriate to their experience. The candidate will also have good interpersonal and communication skills, and can work effectively with people at all levels of seniority and of different nationalities.
