College Adviser, Enrollment, Undergraduate Admissions
College Advising Corps-Boston University (CACBU) is an affiliate of College Advising Corps, a national non-profit organization that works in partnership with institutions of higher education to increase the rates of college enrollment and completion among low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented high school students. CACBU College Advisers are well-trained, recent college graduates who serve as a full-time college adviser in a high-need Boston-area high school.
Advisers support students to navigate the complex processes of college admissions and matriculation and securing financial aid; foster a college-going culture within the schools they serve; serve for 1-2 years in a paid AmeriCorps service position and receive a set living allowance as well as a benefits package including health and dental, educational award and tuition remission. Currently accepting applications for positions in 2018-19 cohort (07/01/2018-06/30/2019). Applications without cover letters will not be considered.
B.A./B.S.; Highly prefers bachelor's degree graduates of a Boston-area college or university, preferably earned in May 2018, December 2017, May 2017, or December 2016. Boston natives who earned their Bachelor's degree outside Boston, or Bachelor's degree graduates of other College Advising Corps partner institutions are also preferred.
