Norwich University of the Arts is seeking to appoint an inspirational Course Leader to lead and bring into closer alignment our BA (Hons) Fashion and BA (Hons) Textile Design courses and drive our shared vision for further integration in these disciplines, each of which has a strong recent record of student success. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a future-focused approach and a sound understanding of the digital and technological advances in the subjects. You will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the changing nature of the fashion and textile industries and have the vision to shape the curriculum to ensure students are prepared for their future careers.
The successful candidate will have experience of leadership in Higher Education and of working with students across fashion and textile design. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in at least one of the following areas: digital design and manufacture; innovative materials; sustainability; smart fabrics; and/or wearable technology. Skills in team leadership; course organisation and management; innovative teaching and curriculum enhancement are essential.
The Course Leader will work collaboratively and under the direction of the Dean of Faculty of Design and Architecture in continuing to develop distinctive and contemporary curricula with a focus on collaboration and co-delivery. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to contemporary pedagogical approaches and an ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be student-focussed and committed to providing excellence in design education.
