Location: Kings Meadow Campus

Salary: £22,876 to £27,285 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first line support to the university community for all IT-related support requests (Incidents and Service Requests) received via telephone, email and self-service. They will also be joining the IT Service Desk at an exciting time in its development because it has secured certification by the Service Desk Institute (SDI)® for two consecutive years and is currently working towards enhanced accreditation.Applications are invited for the above post to work as part of the University of Nottingham’s central IT Service Desk, which is located at the Kings Meadow Campus and plays a pivotal role in helping to ensure applicants, students, staff and third parties derive the greatest possible benefits from the university’s extensive IT services.

Candidates must have a successful track record in a similar technical support role, including troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office products, E-mail and Internet-based services. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential and a working knowledge of Office 365, accounting applications, network monitoring tools, mobile operating systems and PC hardware is desirable.

The hours of work are 36.25 per week Monday to Friday. The IT Service Desk is open between 8.00 and 18.00 therefore some flexibility is required. This is a permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.
