The GEIC is a £60m capital project to construct the world’s foremost Centre for graphene commercialisation, built on campus at The University of Manchester, the Centre is due to be operational October 2018.

The GEIC is a key component of the University of Manchester’s strategy for Graphene@Manchester. Our aim is to accelerate the commercialisation of real-world applications and transition graphene and other 2D materials from the lab to the marketplace. With the National Graphene Institute (NGI) and now the GEIC in place we can help a community of over 350 graphene-related staff at the University collaborate with industry partners to increase graphene applications entering the market.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced engineer to join the GEIC and lead a team engaging in knowledge exchange with companies at the leading edge of graphene applications.

We are looking to recruit two Application Managers who can demonstrate substantial experience of working in fast moving technology innovation/product development roles in the following areas:

  • Barriers and Membranes
  • Surface Modification / Coatings / Inks
  • Material Manufacture

You will be involved in managing a portfolio of short and long term collaborative projects in partnership with a diverse range of industrial partners, with particular focus on SME’s, looking to investigate the use of graphene and its derivatives in a range of applications.
