Are you focused on excellence in learning and teaching? Do you have an ability to develop innovative practice? Is your passion the enhancement of the student experience through the continuous development of learning and teaching? As a member of the elite Russell Group of Universities, the University of Liverpool is committed to excellence in all we do. In recognition of this, the University continues to invest in the newly established Leadership, Organisational, Staff & Academic Development Academy (The Academy).

The Academy presents a new approach to development at Liverpool, drawing together expertise from across the institution and beyond to generate a genuine step change in the way staff at the University are supported to teach, lead, research and continuously develop their professional practice.

A key function of the Academy is the provision of world-class academic development opportunities for those who teach and support learning. Encompassing a broach range of accredited and non-accredited provision, our academic development portfolio is shaped by a constant focus on innovation, creativity and recognised best practice.

Our Academic Developers work in partnership with academic and professional colleagues across all areas of the institution, collaborating to design and deliver opportunities to create real enhancements in learning and teaching. We actively lead on the development of new thinking, working to cascade and share effective practice across the University to maximise its impact on student learning.

As Academic Developer, you will work in collaboration with colleagues across the Academy, the wider institution and beyond to enhance the experience of Liverpool students through the development of excellence in learning and teaching. You will contribute to the design and delivery of sector-leading opportunities for colleagues to continually develop their professional practice, liaising with colleagues across the Schools, Institutes and Faculties as a recognised expert in learning and teaching enhancement. Demonstrating excellent teaching, communication and networking skills, you will contribute to the Academy's teaching development programmes and initiatives. In addition, you will work closely with colleagues to further develop and enhance work in support of professional recognition for all staff who teach at Liverpool. You will play a key role in the development of the Academy Fellows Network, Learning & Teaching Fellowships and the on-going enhancement of the Academy's CPD and Sharing Practice offer.  As a member of the Academy, you will bring energy, enthusiasm and a constant focus on performance to our work, supporting and motivating colleagues to innovate, while developing synergies across the Academy's remit.

You will have experience working in higher education learning and teaching in similar roles, including teaching Master's level programmes and supporting colleagues to enhance their academic practices. Your commitment to excellence will be evidenced by your sustained commitment to your own continuous professional development and academic achievements. You will have knowledge of the current national and international context of the HE environment, applied knowledge of HE learning and teaching pedagogies and scholarship and the necessary management, intra and interpersonal communication skills to apply your knowledge and skills in the context of the University of Liverpool to promote and support implementation of the University's strategic plans.
