Research Technician - Life Sciences

Salary: £22,876 to £27,285 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited to the above role to provide specialist technical support to several research projects and to plan and oversee the day-to-day running of the research laboratory, allocating resources and planning and providing technical supervision/training in the use of equipment and techniques in the area of host-pathogen interaction to relevant staff/students to ensure that objectives are met.
We seek to appoint a highly motivated individual to join our research team and contribute to a research project funded by the Medical Research Council focused on the study of host-pathogen interactions relevant to chronic bacterial infections.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 A Levels and have experience with a number of standard laboratory techniques, such as eukaryotic cell culture and western blotting. In addition candidates should have good microbiological laboratory practice.
Candidates must also have the ability to work accurately with proven technical experience in an immunology/microbiology laboratory. Existing skills and knowledge of Flow Cytometry are also desirable.
This full-time fixed-term post is available until 30th November 2019. Job share arrangements may be considered.
