Lecturer, Interim Director, Choral Activities, College of Fine Arts School of Music
Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Music seeks a thoughtful and enterprising choral conductor to lead its undergraduate choruses and work with graduate conducting majors. Terminal degree or demonstrated professional equivalent required; previous teaching at the college level required. This is a non-tenure track, two-year interim position.
The successful candidate will conduct the School of Music choral ensembles in rehearsal and performances both on and off campus; teach, mentor and advise graduate conducting majors; provide artistic and administrative leadership for the choral program; select repertoire serving pedagogical and professional needs of both conductors and vocalists; show evidence of significant artistic, administrative, interpersonal and communication skills; serve on the faculty of a comprehensive school of music at a major research institution; and maintain a national reputation as a choral conductor and pedagogue.

Selected candidates will be asked to provide a video-recording of 30 minutes of rehearsal and 20 - 30 minutes of performance, including repertoire in contrasting styles, and showing expertise with a cappella works as well as works with instruments.
