University of York
Founded on principles of excellence, equality and opportunity for all, the University of York is a real success story in UK higher education. Since our foundation in 1963 we have powered our way to a consistently high ranking in the UK, have become a member of the Russell Group and are one of just six post-war universities to have appeared in the world top 100. Having opened with just 230 students, we are now home to over 17,000 and while we continue to expand and invest in our estate, the University maintains a valued sense of community and inclusivity.
We want to offer all our students an outstanding and valuable experience. We aim to ensure that they have an environment in which they can optimise their academic and personal potential. Our structures and services should enhance the students’ experience and support their academic endeavour, but most of all, we want our students to enjoy their time at York. The Academic Registrar is a pivotal role in our institution with the student experience and journey laying at the heart of our decision-making, influencing all aspects of our thinking.
This crucial senior management role requires a leader who can translate our shared vision into practical steps to deliver service excellence. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver change in a collegiate way, working with colleagues across the University to enhance service levels. As a senior manager with a large multi-disciplinary team, you will need to harness and develop the talent within the directorate, ensuring teams work together and instil an approach that imbues service and quality.
Our Academic Registrar will ensure the University maintains and improves our position as a leading institution that places students at the heart of decision-making. The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 23rd July 2018.
We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all our diverse students and staff. We aim to take every opportunity to progress equality and diversity and celebrate the enrichment this brings to our community.
