UTS Business School is seeking, as its next Head of Department (Management) a strong leader and manager with outstanding academic standing.

With over 11,000 students and nearly 200 academic staff, UTS Business School is the largest Faculty in the University and is one the largest business faculties in Australia. The Management Department is the largest within the Faculty. It is home to 83 staff and has an operating budget in excess of $13 million.

Reporting to the Dean and Deputy Dean of UTS Business School, the Head of Department is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Department’s education, research and external engagement. This role will also contribute to the strategic management of the Business School. The successful candidate will require excellent leadership and academic management skills with proven ability to operate strategically. This individual will also bring evidence of a strong contribution to research and education. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a highly competitive, complex and rapidly changing environment will be essential.

UTS is uniquely located in the heart of Sydney, one of the world’s most exciting cities and forms the nucleus of the CBD’s creative innovation precinct. UTS Business School is housed in the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building and is the first Australian building designed by Frank Gehry, one of the world’s most celebrated architects. The building is a flagship project of UTS’s billion-dollar-plus City Campus Master Plan.
