(Full) Professor of Communication Science, with a focus on Communication in a Global Context
within the Department of Culture and Communication.
We are seeking a fulltime Professor in Communication Science with an outstanding teaching and research record in international and transnational communication. Special emphasis is placed on a research focus on political communication in an international and transnational perspective. Additional emphasis lies on the comparative dimension of communication science with a focus on its cultural dimensions. Preferable are further research and teaching experiences in the following sub-fields: comparative media systems research, global media industries, international journalism, strategic communication and organizational communication in an international and transnational perspective.
You should have outstanding research and teaching abilities as well as publications in peer reviewed journals, and a competence in both the theoretical and empirical aspects of research into international and transnational communication. You will have an interest in interdisciplinary research, and be able to demonstrate an ability to attract third-party funding. You will be willing to undertake teaching duties in line with the curricular requirements of the university's interdisciplinary degree programs and to participate fully in the life of the university. You will be highly motivated and organised. Non-German speakers will be expected to be able to participate in meetings in German after a period of three years.
Eligible candidates have a relevant doctoral degree and a distinguished record of post-doctoral research and teaching, demonstrated by a successfully completed Habilitation, a Junior-Professorship with positive evaluation, or a similar certificate of post-doctoral qualification (particularly demonstrated by internationally visible publications).
