The Department of the Natural and Built Environment is one of the UK's leading providers of post and undergraduate education in the fields of Surveying, Construction and Real Estate. Our courses in this area are very well regarded by students and employers alike.

We are looking for inspirational lecturers with a commitment to enhance the student experience to join our successful Built Environment team. You will be expected to undertake teaching and administrative duties on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes using your practical experience to inspire built environment students.

You must have Practical experience of working within, or providing advice to, the built environment sector and well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to one or more of the following:

  • Built Environment Economics
  • Development Practice
  • Sustainable Construction,
  • Site Management Practice
  • Health & Safety Management.

You must have the ability to ability to inspire, motivate and connect with a range of stakeholders including students and external partners. You will also have a honours degree, or equivalent professional qualification and experience relevant in a relevant subject.

You do not need previous experience of teaching and this is a great opportunity for an applicant with practical experience who is wishing to embark on a career in academia. New staff with no higher education teaching experience will be required to undertake a year-long part-time teaching course delivered at the university.
