Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Creative Writing based in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.  

The School currently has two undergraduate programmes in Creative Writing, and we are seeking to appoint a member of staff who will contribute to this subject area and deliver an excellent student experience and teaching and learning environment. The successful candidate will be able to deliver modules in drama, fiction, and poetry across all levels of the undergraduate programme. They will join a small team of staff working in the area of Creative Writing and be able to contribute to curriculum development. As an experienced teacher, they will also be familiar with the teaching and assessment of creative writing at undergraduate level.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience of creating and teaching scriptwriting for stage, screen or radio and with a record of publication appropriate for their career stage. The person appointed will have a good honours degree, a doctoral degree, and will have worked in an academic environment.  

The successful applicant will have a good honours degree, a doctoral degree, and will have experience of teaching Creative Writing higher education. With a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning, the successful applicant will have the ability to teach up to Masters level and to undertake research/knowledge transfer.
