Apply your knowledge and use of Cisco networking equipment and other protocols to provide technical support for the University’s telecommunications and network infrastructure.

Information Technology Management and Support (ITMS), provides ICT services and infrastructure support to Charles Darwin University to support and enhance teaching, learning, research and administrative and business activities. ITMS is responsible for the design, execution and delivery of the University’s information systems and provides strategic ICT leadership capability. All ITMS positions operate within an ITIL V3 environment and leverages aspects of COBIT and Dev Ops process and procedures in its operation.

As Senior Network Analyst you are responsible for the analysis, development and implementation of network solutions to ensure the performance and speed of University networks meets organisational and end user requirements. This involves the development and distribution of networking best practice within the network team and includes operational tasks such as software and hardware upgrades, performance tuning, complex problem analysis and proactive problem resolution as required.

Primarily, you will be proficient in the use of Cisco networking equipment (WAN, LAN, Data Centre and Voice) and a range of other vendor platforms/technologies including MPLS, BGP and OSPF routing protocols, QoS traffic engineering and other networking protocols.

To be successful you require detailed knowledge of the engineering and operational challenges of an enterprise network and can provide analytical, technical, cost analysis and project management expertise in the planning, design, installation and ongoing management of network infrastructure. You are also expected to further develop your technical currency by maintaining an awareness of industry developments and trends.
