The MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) seeks an outstanding Business Manager to provide comprehensive professional services within a world leading research environment. You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated and a well-organised manager, filling a pivotal role in the Senior Management structure of the CVR within the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. This is a demanding and diverse role requiring strong and flexible leadership with specialist expertise and able to provide advice from senior management level to staff, with a pragmatic approach to business administration. 

Reporting to the Director of the CVR, this role is responsible for the overall administrative governance in the CVR. The postholder will provide wide ranging senior level support to the Director of the CVR in the strategic and operational planning and management of the CVR’s finances and human resources, to ensure key objectives are set and delivered. Expertise in Finance and HR is required.

Key to this pivotal role is managing and optimising the interface and alignment of the CVR- specific business support services with those provided by the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences and the at the University of Glasgow. The post-holder will also liaise as necessary with colleagues at the MRC Head Office. 

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level  8, £42,418 - £49,149 per annum.

This post is full time and, in the first instance, is funded until 31 March 2021, with additional funding likely to apply on a five year cycle.
